About

I am Warmi, and I am an artist. The works I create are for the art enthusiast not just decorative rip offs or splatter paint wall fillers. My work is for the individuals who can appreciate the feelings and the emotional storytelling that can be conveyed with paint on a canvas.

My style is influenced by a combination of artists from the fauvists and impressionist movements. The colorful beasts of the late 19th and 20th century are my teachers. Artists like Van Gogh, Matisse, and Manet to name a few heavily influence my work. Just as they did my paintings attempts to capture life through emphasis on color, line, and impressions of the world around us. My subject matter; however, is rooted in the 21st century. In my work I depict cafes, living spaces, and other contemporary places we find ourselves in our everyday life.

I want my work to inspire others just as I have been inspired. There is beauty to be found all around us even in the most unlikely of places; such as, the grout in the floor tile, the trash on the bathroom floor, or a mundane afternoon at home. The nuance that painting can capture is incredible from the brush strokes and color pallet to the subject matter that is painted. The ability to say so much without even speaking a word is a testament to painting as an art form and a reason for its cultural longevity. My work takes the philosophy and practice from the early 20th century masters and brings them into the contemporary. I attempt to capture life with all of its beauty and emotions through the medium of paint with my work.
